Unlike Dutch Elm Disease, Emerald Ash Borer has not been declared an invasive pest under the Alberta Agricultural Pest Act (APA), “Pest and Nuisance Control Regulation”.
The APA unlocks multiple tools for tree nurseries, municipalities, and national authorities to allow for quick and decisive action in protecting our agricultural industry, urban forests and controlling EAB infestations.
To date, no decision has been made to finalize this process by provincial officials.
